About TokenTrail
Free educational guides to blockchains, crypto markets, investing risk and security — written for beginners and traced to their sources.
TokenTrail publishes free educational content about blockchains, crypto markets, investing risk and security. It is written for beginners: people who want to understand how these systems work before they decide anything, and people who already hold crypto and want to know what they actually own and what could go wrong.
What does TokenTrail publish?#
- Guides in Learn, grouped by topic from Blockchain Basics to Security & Scams. Each one starts from zero and builds step by step.
- Metric profiles in the metrics library: what each on-chain or market indicator measures, how it is calculated, who introduced it and where it fails.
- Definitions in the glossary: short, plain-English entries for the words you meet in every other guide.
- Calculators in Tools: they run in your browser and show their working.
What is TokenTrail not?#
TokenTrail is not investment, tax or legal advice. We recommend no asset, exchange, wallet product or service, and nothing on the site should be read as a suggestion to buy, sell or hold anything. Crypto-assets are highly risky, and our risk disclosure explains why in the words of financial regulators.
How is the content made and checked?#
Pages are drafted and fact-checked with the help of AI models that work only from a fixed library of sources stored with the project. Every document in that library is listed on our sources page. A separate pass that did not write a page re-checks every number, date, rule and quotation on it against the source it cites. Primary sources — protocol specifications, client source code, regulators, official protocol documentation and original authors — carry the facts; expert secondary sources are used for explanation. Every claim with a number, date or rule carries an inline citation, and worked examples are computed in code. The full process is set out in our editorial policy.
How is TokenTrail funded?#
There are no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored content, no paid placements and no token promotions. TokenTrail sells nothing and has no paid tier. The site is self-funded by its owner. If that ever changes, our funding page will say so before any change goes live.
Where do the images come from?#
Photos come from Openverse and are used under CC0, the Public Domain Mark, CC BY or CC BY-SA, with a credit under each image. Token logos come from the open-source cryptocurrency-icons set (CC0) and are shown for identification only; logos are trademarks of their owners.
What is the aim?#
Explanations that have no commercial reason to push you towards anything, and figures you can trace back to the document they came from. If you find a page that falls short of that, please tell us.
